If I had realised that this was a collection of short stories, I would not have chosen to read it, and would have missed a fantastic book and author.
Each story was very different ranging from a fairy story to slavery and crimes. All of the subjects were treated sensitively and some with wit and humour, and except for the last two in the book, ended on a definitely positive note. Each one was very thought provoking. I especially enjoyed City of Dreams, which concerned mental illness and was very challenging.
Also the copy I had felt very pleasing to hold and read.
