LOG IN TO MY ACCOUNT

Here at newbooks we are great supporters of the library service and have been actively involved in library events throughout the UK and in Ireland.

We offer the following to support your work with readers.

The magazine

In each bimonthly issue we aim to provide information on new and recently published books that readers and reading groups are likely to find of interest. Through interviews, author articles, Q&A's and pieces by our readers on authors and books they love we present an eclectic 84 pages with something for everybody.

Our editorial stance throughout is that we try to represent the voice of the reader.

You can see a contents listing of the last three issues by clicking any of the magazine covers top right. And for a issues you can also download a pdf of the whole magazine to see how we present our publication.

Our extra special point of appeal is that - each issue - readers can claim a free copy of one of our featured titles. To see a listing of these from the last few issues simply click on our featured books. In claiming their free book all we ask our readers is that they cover our p&p costs.

If you or any colleagues would like to see a free copy/ies of the magazine and other support materials - all free of charge. Simply tell us:

    * how many copies you would like
    * who to despatch to and by when
    * the address/es we need to send to.

If you're staging an event with readers then we'd be happy to provide copies of the magazine and other support materials - all free of charge. Simply tell us:

    * what you are planning
    * how many people you are aiming to attract
    * when and where it is to take place
    * who to despatch to and by when
    * which of our support materials would be most useful.

Reading Group Starter Packs - a new resource

Our Reading Group Starter Pack is the perfect kit to help new or recently formed groups to get going and to alert them to the magazine's existence.

Each pack contains:

    * 8 copies of newbooks
    * 8 books - a selection from our recently featured books
    * 1 nb Reader's Journal
    * 1 set of our nb postcards
    * 1 set of our nb message cards

    * plus some hints and tips on setting up a new group.

That's more than £85 worth of materials delivered to your door for just £25.

Why not give us a try with one of your recently established groups? Just tell us:

    * who to despatch to
    * which branch (or home address if group leader isn't a librarian)

Reading group recruitment events - a free resource

We have come to the conclusion that these are the way to satisfy public demand for library supported reading groups. Experience has proved that parachuting new members into existing groups can be fraught with problems. A recruitment event can be easily publicised with a leaflet leaving the building with every person who borrows a book. Those attending are starting from the same point so are much more likely to gel as a group. This is also the perfect opportunity to set out what you and your staff are prepared/able to offer.

We have devised a simple template to publicise such an event – and we’ll happily send free copies of the magazine and some free books as giveaways. Simply tell us:

    * what you are planning
    * how many people you are aiming to attract
    * when and where it is to take place
    * who to despatch to and by when
    * which of our support materials would be most useful.

We will forward the template by return so you can start to publicise the event straight away.

Reader reviews

As well as the twelve pages each issue, our website carries over fifteen hundred reviews written by readers like those in your reading groups who tell it like it is, and not necessarily how the publisher might prefer!
