Emily Robertson has always dreamt of living in Italy. With her husband Paul and their three beautiful children, she is now living that dream, in their restored Tuscan farmhouse. With Paul away on business, she copes with a housekeeper who hates her, and a daughter with anorexia.
Then she gets a text message from Paul telling her he has left her. Struggling with financial worries, she dreams of the life she might have had if she had married her first love Michael, now a successful brain surgeon. Then, into her life comes a dark and rugged Italian, archaeologist Raffaello, searching for ancient Etruscan tombs.
This was a great read. For anyone with even a slight interest in Italian history, culture or food, this is the book for you. This book has everything, history, romance, adventure and fun, there's even a ghost story thrown in.
I would highly recommend this book for both a personal read, and for a book group.
