"I cannot express how surprised and delighted I was to hear that my novel had been voted as newbooks Book of the Year! (Honestly, I never win ANYTHING -- not raffle prizes, or lottery drawings, or even free toasters from banks . . . so I find myself truly humbled by the nature of this award!) Seriously, though, the pleasure was all mine when I was in the UK last spring and meeting so many of my newbooks readers . . . and this mark of distinction suggests that you all enjoyed it greatly too. I hope this means that you're all looking forward to my upcoming novel, The Tenth Circle, as much as I am . . . and that when I return to tour the UK in April and early May (2006), I will be able to thank you all in person for this honor! All best, Jodi Picoult"
